Location

It is located on the Udhampur Srinagar Highway.110 k.m from Jammu and 32 k.m from Udhampur city, it is just short of the tourist spot of Patni Top while driving to Patni top from Udhampur. After Patnitop is the adjoining town of Batote.

Kud is located at 33.08°N 75.28°E. It has an average elevation of 1855 metres (6085 feet).It is a part of the Lower Himalayan Range. the river Chenab flows in close proximity.

These Shops stock local and imported trekking gear. Equipments are available against a security deposit. If you are a foreign national then your passport will be kept as a deposit. Some travel agencies also organise trekking around this area.

Clothing

Heavy woolens are required in winters while light/medium clothing is required in summers. It is a very well developed hill station in Udhampur District. It also experiences heavy rainfall in the rainy season.
